Thank Goodness for Long Weekends...

Once again, I've been seriously busy for the last few weeks and as such haven't been posting anywhere near as regularly as I had intended when I first started this blog.

To catch up, it's been a month since I last wrote, and since then I have added to my stash considerably :D Oh, darn... :D I went to the Downtown Knit Collective's Knitter's Frolic on April 30 - after work, of course, because this crew rotation I'm doing nothing but working, it seems. At the Frolic I got these:

These are all from Waterloo Wools and I'm looking forward to playing with them :D

I also picked up these:

Hadn't seen Dream In Colour before - yes, I'm Canadian, I have to add the 'u' in there, it's genetically encoded in me - and so happily grabbed these. They're currently being made into Stephen West's Daybreak and I'm very happy with it so far - looking lovely :)

I also managed to pick up some Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks That Rock in the Bejewelled colourway - I love it! No idea what I'm going to do with it, but hey, that's okay :D

My April sock club yarn from Yarn Love also arrived since I last blogged, named Glamour Girl (again with the 'u'). Beautiful as usual :D I love Katie's colourways, they're always lovely.

I have finished a pair of socks from my March sock club yarn from SweetGeorgia Yarns, colourway Placid Waters. I just did a mixed up 4x2 rib which gives the illusion of a basketweave and I must say, they're very comfy and squishy :) They'll be perfect for lounging about next winter - since the yarn was a sport weight, they're a little too heavy for the rest of the year unless the air conditioning gets cranked a little too high.

I've temporarily put aside my Argonath Stole because for some reason it's looking right on the back side of the fabric but not looking like much at all on the right side :P I've ripped it out three times already, and so am a little frustrated. Hence the Daybreak.

Let's see, what else have I been up to? Besides working my behind off... Not much, really. We saw Thor last weekend in 3D, which was lots of fun. About what I expected for a comic book movie, really. There were a couple of teenagers down the way who had apparently never read any of the myths before, and were surprised when Loki was revealed as the trickster he is.

This weekend I finally have two days off in a row, but only because Monday is the holiday and I didn't sign for any extra work. Since the beginning of this crew rotation I've worked every Saturday, as well as some evenings after my regular shift and so I didn't want any more extra work on the holiday. I need the sleep more :P I have extra work on Saturdays at least until June 11, so I really need this weekend off.

I bought a bike today! I haven't ridden a bike in somewhere close to twenty years, so I was a little nervous about it, as I had to ride it home from the store. We have no bike rack for the car and there was no way that it would fit in the trunk, so riding it home was the only way to get it here. It was fun! :D I'm looking forward to more rides soon. Maybe not this weekend, as it's supposed to rain tomorrow, but if it holds off I think I'd like to go out for a little while around the neighbourhood.

I also got into the garden and pulled all the weeds - the crabgrass was plotting a coup in there among the rosebushes and it was time for the tulips to be cut back as they were finished blooming. There's one poor rosebush that may be toast, but there is a teeny tiny shoot coming up that I'm hoping will survive.

Anyway, that's it for now, time to relax in front of the tv for a while and work on my Daybreak :)
